Through a procedure of sorting out contents, proof-reading and printing, the photostatic edition of Pingding County Annals in the Republic of China was published in April 2017. This edition (over 200 pages in 3 volumes) has resulted from the effort by the CPC History & Local Chronicles Office of Pingding County.

Early in 2016, the CPC History & Local Chronicles Office of Pingding County sorted out and photostatically copied the following chapters of Pingding County Annals published in the Republic of China: Preface to the Map of Pingding, An Outline of the County Land, An Outline of Channels & Ditches across the County, Biographies of Famed Talents, Renowned Local Officials, Local Intellectuals, Careers of Officials of Locals, List of Talents Passing the Final National Imperial Examinations over the Years, List of Talents Passing the Provincial Imperial Examinations over the Years, List of Talents (Annual) Graduating from the Imperial College in Peking over the Years, List of Talents (on Special Occasion) Graduating from the Imperial College in Peking over the Years, the Section of Talents Passing the Imperial Military Examinations at Various Levels over the Years, etc. In October 2016, the said photostatic copy was approved by the Pingding County government for formal printing. During the sort-out and organization for the photostatic copy, the CPC History & Local Chronicles Office of Pingding County had access to Textual Investigation of Inscriptions on Ancient Bronzes and Stone Tablets (in one volume) via solicitation from a collector of local annals. Through investigation and analysis, the book turns out to be a trans-printed copy of the hand-transcript of the original book Textual Investigation of Inscriptions on Ancient Pingding Bronzes and Stone Tablets (calligraphic edition), authored and calligraphically written by Cai Tong (a native of Pingding in the Republic of China, style-named Tongren, a famed calligrapher) and published in the Republic of China. The book, through selection, adjustment and technical processing, and the aforesaid chapters and sections of Pingding County Annals, have been integratively published under the same book title.

Re-publishing ancient annals not merely helps current governance, but also archives the history, good for the present time and beneficial down the ages. The publishing of the photostatic edition of the Pingding County Annals also provides referential material for our ongoing effort to salvage historical information on Pingding, carry forward the Pingding history and culture as well as use historical material to assist governance and personnel cultivation.
